State Of Emergency

With advances in technology and the accessibility of the internet, a new way of pornographic exchange has emerged. This new form is done through texting, an act that has been given the name of “sexting.” sexting is when explicit videos, pictures and even words or phrases are sent to someone or a group of people through a text message. This has been a troubling controversy for the past couple of years, the nerve-wrecking part is that there have been many reported cases where a young teen, mainly girls, have committed suicide because of sexting trouble. That is because sexting has gotten very popular among the teenage community and if the government does not make this a priority I fear that this will become one of the leading suicide causes for many teens in the future. It is sad to see these naive girls falling for the words of a horny teenager or vice versa and in the end they can't take all the responsibility that comes with sending these pictures that can not be prevented from being sent out. There has to be a better way to stop this because whatever it is that we as a community are doing to stop this is not working. “Sexting” in my opinion needs to be severely punished regardless of age.

Change Of Plans

After watching the documentary Two spirits, It talks about the brutal murder of Fred Martinez a transgender, I can't help but feel betrayed by the ability of humanity. Betrayed in the sense that when did the world get this nasty? The way he was murdered and the reasons behind is terrifying because there are so many cases like that of Fred Martinez that do not come to light. With the constant evolutionary change of humanity it is hard to grasp to the fact that although people are becoming more open minded there are also people who are becoming even more ignorant because that is what it is. The people who commit hate crimes are ignorant, they are not well educated and don't understand that people are born differently and just because they are born gay or a transgender or disabled it does not mean that the person will want to cause harm. Those people need to understand that we cannot choose the race in which we are born into or who we will grow up to love. These things are that which we cannot change and things that people should not try to change. My point is that we need to unite as a people instead of individuals and start becoming more acceptant of those who are different because if you really think about it no one person is the same.

Woman Power

After doing some intensive research based on curiosity I stumbled upon many articles that talked about the “ideal woman.” The Rawness:human nature and sexual politics, even went as far as to post a how-to-guide to become the “ideal woman.” After reading many of these Articles I came to the conclusion that even though we, as women, have the right to vote and have the right to make our own decisions we are still being suppressed in a modernized misogynistic world. Why is it that women have to be the perfect house wife? Who the hell are these men trying to tell me that it's okay if a woman does her own thing but she also has to be able to manage the house work! Why is it that you, the men, don't want to get your hands dirty, you know what is you want a sandwich or a clean shirt why don't you make it or clean it your self? It baffles my mind that even as entertainers, the women can't get away with anything. Like Rihanna's recent S&M video, why is she getting so much bad publicity and attention for it? Is it because she is a woman who is stepping outside of the “ideal woman” boundary? She has a video, that yes although inappropriate for the younger audience, is perfectly appropriate for the song. The funny thing is that at the end of the day most of the people who criticize her for her “ inappropriate and Racy” video are blasting her music and singing along. Just because a woman decides to make a video or do something crazy and out there she has all the right to do so, and just because she does this it does not mean that she is a slut. But by all means, call us names and think we as women are trashy because that means that we have gotten into your head and you are taking the time out of your day to talk about the women who will no longer be suppressed, oh yeah you have just been kicked in the face by that woman power. Now go take your foot out of your mouth.
